A whole team. One standard.

Gears Driving School offers a wide range of quality driving lessons across Nottingham and the surrounding areas, run by director Aroon Hussain. Our aim is simple: the best quality lessons, to make sensible drivers.

We give you an efficient, effective service at highly competitive prices. Every lesson is run in a professional manner, and every one of our instructors teaches with a friendly, patient approach.

Our instructors are all trained and assessed by the DVSA, and every one is DBS checked. Many have several years’ experience, not only teaching learners to pass the driving test but also training qualified drivers to become ADIs (Approved Driving Instructors).

Aroon qualified as a driving instructor in 2018, at the age of 21. The following year the Nottingham Post asked whether he was the youngest driving instructor in Nottinghamshire, and in 2026 it told how he went on to run one of Nottingham’s biggest driving schools. Today the team is 30+ instructors strong, 500+ learners have passed with us, and Gears is the My Local Awards Driving School of the Year 2026 for the East Midlands.

Anxious or nervous about learning to drive? You are not the only one, and it is what our instructors are best at. They are patient, calm and friendly, they put learners at ease, and they let you build confidence at your own pace.

Our team includes multilingual instructors. If you would be more comfortable learning in another language, ask us when you book.

To make sure your lessons are taught well, we pick you up and drop you off from any reasonable location, every lesson is one to one, just you and your instructor, and you get your full lesson time.

We want your lessons to be as enjoyable as possible. We teach the techniques the DVSA recommends, stick to the Highway Code and follow best practice, covering both the theory and the practical side of driving.
