Privacy policy

What we do with your details.

Short version: we use them to get back to you and arrange your lessons, and for nothing else. Last updated 19 October 2026.

Who we are

This website belongs to Gears Driving School, the trading name of GEARSDRIVINGSCHOOL LTD (company number 17192923), registered office 410-412 Radford Road, Nottingham NG7 7NP. For anything to do with your personal information, call 07849 232 159 or email enquiries@gearsdrivingschool.com.

What we collect

If you send the enquiry form we receive what you type into it: your name, phone number, email address if you give one, postcode, whether you want manual or automatic lessons, how far along you are and anything else you tell us. If you call, WhatsApp or email us, we keep the details you give us so we can arrange your lessons.

The form is sent over an encrypted connection. It has a hidden check to catch automated spam.

Why we use it

  • To get back to you about your enquiry and match you with an instructor.
  • To arrange, run and keep a record of your lessons and test, if you book with us.
  • To keep the business records the law requires us to hold.

We do not sell your details and we do not add you to any marketing list.

Who else sees it

Your instructor sees what they need to teach you (your name, phone number and pick-up area).

Driving lesson enquiries sent through this website go through TotalDrive, the system we use to manage enquiries and lessons. They hold your details for us and act on our instructions.

Enquiries about becoming an instructor or joining our team are delivered to us by Orchestrix, who build and host this website for us. They keep a copy so nothing gets lost and pass it straight to our inbox. They act on our instructions and do not use your details for anything of their own.

Nobody else sees your details unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

If you do not go on to book lessons, we delete your enquiry within twelve months. If you do, we keep your lesson records for as long as we need them for our accounts, then delete them.

Cookies

This website never uses advertising cookies. With your OK in the cookie banner we use Microsoft Clarity to see how the site is used. Our TotalDrive enquiry form sets its own cookies only once you choose to open it. See the cookies page for details.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call or email us and we will sort it. If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
