The small print, in plain view.

1. This agreement is made directly between your driving instructor and yourself, and is effective from the day you book in.
2. Payment for all lessons is always on the day, or 72 hours in advance if it is your first lesson booking.
3. If payment is not made 72 hours before your first lesson, your lesson will be cancelled.
4. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer, directly to the driving school or your instructor.
5. Payment by bank transfer must be agreed with the instructor and made 24 hours before the booked lesson.
6. Payments for block booking courses of lessons are payable in full.
7. All learners should be punctual for their driving lessons. If a learner does not turn up, the instructor will normally wait for 15 minutes before abandoning the lesson, and the lesson fee is forfeited or becomes due for payment. If an instructor is late due to unforeseen circumstances, every effort will be made to contact the pupil. Any time lost will be made up by the instructor, either at the end of the lesson or on another occasion.
8. Gears Driving School reserves the right to terminate a lesson if a learner may be unfit to drive, whether through drink, abusive behaviour, drugs or any medication they may be taking. The full lesson fee is payable if that happens.
9. Gears Driving School reserves the right to withhold the use of a car for the UK practical driving test if, in the opinion of the instructor, the learner is not up to the standard required to take the test.
10. If the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) cancels the practical driving test, no refund will be given for the pre-test lessons or the hire of the driving school vehicle. Any claim must be made directly to the DVSA.
11. Gears Driving School requires 48 hours' notice to postpone or cancel a lesson. Without it, the full lesson fee becomes payable.
12. All driving instructors are self-employed, and all contracts and payments for driving tuition are between the pupil and the instructor.
13. Gears Driving School reserves the right to postpone lessons if your instructor considers that the weather or the road conditions are dangerous or otherwise not suitable for training.
14. If you would like a refund on a block booking package, all lessons taken are charged at the full lesson rate per hour, and anything outstanding is refunded.
